By Al Alder

"The wireless music box has no imaginable commercial value. Who would pay for a message sent to nobody in particular?" in response to urgings for investment in the radio in the 1920s. -

David Sarnoff' Associates.

"The concept is interesting and well-formed, but in order to earn better than a 'C', the idea must be feasible," - A Yale University management professor in response to Fred Smith's paper proposing reliable overnight delivery service. (Smith went on to found Federal Express Corp.)

"I'm just glad it'll be Clark Gable who's falls on his face, not Gary Cooper,"

Gary Cooper on his decision not to take the leading role in Gone With The Wind.

"Drill for oil? You mean drill into the ground to try and find oil? You're crazy," -

Great intel, Al.
It's amazing what comes out of the mouth of man, before their brain is engaged. A fun look back.
Keep up the good work.

While we laugh at the errors of those in the past we should take care that we are not repeating the mistake with what we say can't be done in the future.

Great article. Love the Patent office one, "Everything that can be invented has been invented," I've been to the US Patent office in Virginia and it is an overwhelming place.

I was familiar with the quote about Fedex plan, the rest were new to me. This kind of intel gives me strength when I'm planning a new project everyone says will fail (but then again it usually does fail. )

Awesome intel. We have to believe in ourselves and prove the so-called experts wrong. That takes courage and strength.
